Rihanna is persuading us to embrace logomania for our next date look.
The fashion-beauty-music mogul made her way to her favoured Italian eatery, Santa Monica's Giorgio Baldi, accompanied by boyfriend A$AP Rocky. And, as usual, Rihanna took the outing as an opportunity to flaunt some serious fashion looks, this time going all out with the monogrammed logos as seen in the Gucci and Balenciaga Hacker Project.
The 100th-anniversary collection from Gucci creative director Alessandro Michele made headlines last year when it "hacked" Parisian fashion house Balenciaga, a luxe partnership that culminated in splashy monogrammed outerwear, suiting, and even accessories like bags, chain necklaces, and boots.
For her outing, Rihanna wore the collection's monogrammed cocoon puffer gilet in beige, which features brown canvas jacquard detailing. Her matching headscarf and black-framed, red-tinted sunglasses also bore the houses' dual logos. She finished the look with a dark-brown midi skirt, strappy gold stilettos, and a Briony Raymond ring.
Rocky also went bold for their date night, wearing a yellow-and-white checkered balaclava, a colourfully marked denim jacket, a brown flannel, a graphic T-shirt, grey trousers, and Nike trainers.
Rihanna is far from the first celebrity to show the Gucci and Balenciaga collaboration some love. Beyoncé repped the collection during a December Las Vegas vacation with Jay-Z.
Last month, Beyoncé posted photos of herself to Instagram in the sold-out Gucci x Balenciaga crystal-bedazzled jacket. The silver blazer displayed the brands' logos diagonally, and Gucci's monogram also covered her shimmering leggings and fingerless gloves.
