The Suicide Squad director James Gunn is bringing the DCEU to TV screens with Peacemaker, the brand-new series which has now premiered on HBO Max.
Peacemaker is a spin-off of The Suicide Squad and takes place after the events of the 2021 film, with John Cena reprising the title role as an anti-hero super-soldier who'll do whatever it takes to achieve peace: "I cherish peace with all my heart. I don't care how many men, women, and children I need to kill to get it."
The series will explore Peacemaker's origins and his subsequent missions following the movie, and is sure to be full of gore and satirical thrills.

Starring alongside John Cena as Christopher Smith / Peacemaker are Robert Patrick as Peacemaker's father Auggie Smith, Danielle Brooks as Leota Adebayo, Steve Agee as John Economos, Freddie Stroma as Vigilante, Jennifer Holland as Emilia Harcourt and a number of other DC characters.

How to watch Peacemaker in the US
Peacemaker premiered on HBO Max on January 13, 2022. The first three episodes were released at launch with subsequent episodes releasing weekly at 12.01am PST on Thursdays until the finale on February 17.
HBO Max is not available outside of the US and you have to sign up for a paid subscription to get access to Peacemaker and a number of other HBO shows.
How to watch Peacemaker in the UK
On March 9 series director James Gunn announced on Twitter that Peacemaker will finally arrive in the UK and Ireland on March 22, 2022 – it will be available on Sky and streaming service NOW.
If you're not a Sky customer, you can sign up for their Sky Ultimate TV package for £26 a month as part of an 18-month contract.
This package includes channels like Sky Max which is home to Peacemaker, Sky Atlantic, Sky One, Sky Comedy, Sky History, National Geographic, Discovery, and many more channels – as well as this the bundle also includes Netflix as part of the service.
Peacemaker will also be available to watch on streaming service NOW – for up-to-date pricing and subscription information, you can view the NOW website.
Gunn has confirmed the series will have a post-credits scene in "every episode" as a thank you to fans who watch the credits – he will also direct five of the episodes and has written all eight.
Speaking to Supes recently, Gunn said: "In the Peacemaker show, we were able to take a lot of risks, a lot of chances, explore dramatic elements that we aren't able to do in a movie, explore comedy in a way that we aren't, and have incredibly long, incredibly high octane action sequences that take place in every single episode."
He went on to say: "It really just is everything I love: comedy, drama, action, all in one TV series that doesn't take itself too seriously but in other ways takes itself very seriously".
Peacemaker is streaming on HBO Max in the US, and will be available on Sky Max and NOW in the UK from March 22, 2022.
