Nestled between the trees just north of the city of Travelers Rest is an eco-friendly neighborhood of the future. “Whether it’s our solar roof, our steel sip panel construction … we’re going to be implementing some cool wireless switches and WiFi connectivity into all of our homes,” said Justin Draplin, CEO of Eclipse Cottages.Net-zero tiny homes are getting very popular.“We have a lot of sales coming in, and we, quite frankly, can’t keep up with demand right now,” he said. The company is looking to hire 30 to 40 people to help build net-positive tiny homes. The houses will be built in Travelers Rest. Then, they’ll be shipped all across the country. “We’re looking for laborers. Somebody who can work on the home, can handle two by fours, power tools, that kind of stuff,” Draplin said. “It really doesn’t have to be anyone who’s super experienced.
