Billlie Moon Sua Proves She's Still Good at Rapping Even after Departing from YG Entertainment

On Jan. 11, Billlie's management agency, Mystic Story, shared a new video of band member Moon Sua on the girl group's official YouTube channel.

The 3-minute video features Billlie Moon Sua covering "The Night that You Are Not Here" by hip-hop artist BE-O. The 22-year-old idol can be seen wearing comfy clothes as she sits in front of a laptop in her studio. She then begins to rap to the song, sounding so natural and incredible throughout the track.

Although Moon Sua debuted as Billlie's lead vocalist, rapping has always been a part of her before she moved to Mystic Story.

For starters, Moon Sua is a former YG Entertainment trainee. She joined in 2009 and left the agency in 2019. When she was at YG, she was trained to be a rapper and was considered the ace of the company.

Notably, Sua was a member of "Future 2NE1" along with other trainees Lee Chaeyoung and Lee Soyeon (of fromis_9), however, the debut plans were canceled. She was supposed to be the main rapper of the group and represent CL, who is her role model.

She even competed in Mnet's survival audition show "Unpretty Rapstar 2" in 2015. She made it until the final round and finished in third place. She is the youngest contestant ever in the program.

After Billlie Moon Sua left YG Entertainment and transferred to Mystic Story, she barely focused on rapping, and so fans were worried that her rap skills may go rusty.

But with her cover of BE-O's "The Night that You Are Not Here," Moon Sua proved that she still excels in rapping despite being Billlie's lead vocalist.
