‘The Worst Person In The World’ Trailer: The Oscar Hopeful Finally Gets A Release Date

After a successful festival run last year (including at the Middleburg Film Festival), Norwegian director Joachim Trier’s The Worst Person in the World is finally hitting theaters February 4th.

In the new trailer from Neon, we see Julie (Renate Reinsve) trying to navigate life and loves while living in Oslo. Combining magical realism with romance and humor, there’s a reason the film has garnered critical acclaim at Cannes and the New York Film Festival . It is also currently on the Oscar shortlist for Best International Feature.

The official synopsis is as follows:

Chronicling fours years in the life of Julie, The Worst Person in the World examine one woman’s quest for love and meaning in the modern world. Fluidly told in twelve chapters, [Julie] explores new professional avenues and embarks on relationships with two very different men in her search for happiness and identity.

Before hitting theaters, The Worst Person in the World will hit one last festival – Sundance. Easily one of my favorite films of 2021, the film perfectly captures the listlessness so many millennials are facing today.

The Worst Person in the World hits New York and Los Angeles theaters February 4 and everywhere else February 11.
