PORT ANGELES – The Port Angeles Fire Department reports a victim survived a 120 fall from the bluff to the beach in west Port Angeles at 10th and N Streets.

First responders got the call at about 1:00pm Wednesday that the teenager was at the bottom of the bluff in an area that’s not easy for rescuers to access. Multiple agencies responded, some making access from the cemetery at West 18th Street and others accessing the beach from McKinley Paper mill.

Crews stabilized the unidentified girl and prepared for air transport. A USCG helicopter crew lifted the patient in their stokes basket to their helicopter, along with a Port Angeles Fire Medic who then transported the patient to the Coast Guard Base, where a Port Angeles Medic unit transported the victim to Fairchild Airport.  LifeFlight then transported the patient to a Seattle area hospital by way of fixed wing aircraft.

The victim’s condition was not released and authorities did not know the cause of the fall.
