We promise that this is the easiest banana bread recipe you will ever find. You need only three simple ingredients: a box of cake mix, mashed ripe bananas and two eggs. That’s it!

The key to flavorful banana bread is using very ripe bananas. As the skin darkens, the banana flavor becomes more pronounced. You’ll need 1-1/2 cups of mashed bananas for this recipe, so we used about 3 ripe bananas.

Step 2: Mix the ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the mashed bananas with the cake mix and eggs. Mix well until the ingredients are combined.

Step 3: Bake

Transfer the batter to a greased 9×5-inch loaf pan. Bake in a preheated 350°F oven for 45 minutes or until a tester inserted in the center of the loaf comes out clean.

Cool in the pan on a wire rack for 10 minutes, then invert onto the rack to cool completely before slicing.

This recipe also works well for those with dietary restrictions—just use gluten-free cake mix!

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, combine eggs and bananas. Gradually stir in cake mix just until combined. Pour into a greased 9x5-in. loaf pan.
  2. Bake until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean, 45-50 minutes. Cool in pan 15 minutes before removing from pan to wire rack to cool.
