1. Jac gets a devastating prognosis
Jac's nightmare goes from bad to worse in next week's emotional episode, as she gets more definitive answers on her prognosis.
A distraught Max and Eli are forced to break the news to Jac that, despite the surgery, her tumour is still progressing at a worrying rate and she's now terminal.
Refusing to give up without a fight, Jac is soon looking at alternative treatments that could save her – but what does the future hold for her now?
2. Amelia learns her fate
While Jac gets a devastating update about her condition, it's a different story for Amelia, who gets the news she was hoping for.
Both Amelia and Eli are overcome with emotion to learn that Amelia's tumour has responded to the trial, and reduced by 30%, in a heartwarming moment that will have you reaching for the tissues.
Sadly, Eli's happiness is short-lived when he is quickly thrown into a dilemma, thanks to Jac's new plan.
3. Eli faces a moral dilemma
As Jac explores other options to fight her worsening condition, she approaches Eli with a life-changing offer.
Jac wants Eli to perform a highly risky procedure in a bid to buy her some time; the only treatment that is likely to have any effect.
Determined, Jac implores Eli to consider this, leaving him feeling ethically compromised. But will he let his heart rule his head?
4. Fletch makes a big decision
Fletch has a lot to think about following Regina's big offer in last night's episode. Acutely aware that he may not have a job in three months' time, Fletch is forced to consider the option of taking up the job at St James's.
Despite wanting to remain loyal to his Holby roots – and colleagues – the demands of working on AAU leave Fletch seriously considering Regina's offer.
When Fletch is urged not to go down with the ship, he makes a decision that could change his life forever. Will he choose his real family or his Holby family?
5. Nicky has a panic attack
Nicky is hit hard by the news that Jac's illness is terminal, but is forced to keep it to herself. Still struggling with the dual responsibility of new motherhood, alongside her high-pressure job, the day's events overwhelm Nicky and she has a panic attack in the lift.
Thankfully, Sasha is on hand to help Nicky in her hour of need, and is able to calm her down. However, when Sasha urges Nicky to open up about what's triggered this onset of anxiety, she is reminded of her loyalty to Jac and stays quiet.
As a result, Nicky is forced to suffer in silence and later breaks down again following a difficult conversation with Jac on the phone.
6. Sasha has a proposition for Dom
Dom reconnects with stoma patient Flo, who needs more treatment. As Dom is reminded of his former connection with Flo, he begins to reflect on his own future and approaches Sasha about a historical research paper he once started.
With the wards' impending closure playing heavily on their minds, Dom believes that Sasha's research project could be the answer here. But will Sasha agree?
