Akeem Williams, 21, is facing charges of escaping custody and reckless endangerment in addition to his original robbery charge.
The incident began on Jan. 12, after the Brooklyn native was arrested in connection with a robbery. He soon complained of chest pains and was transported to Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center.
According to police, Williams was "rear cuffed" and was able to bring his arms forward and escape on foot.
A source told AMNY on Sunday that Williams turned himself in on Saturday to the 73rd Precinct in Brownsville.
