Patti Lyons, president of Senior Citizen’s Inc., said they are asking the public to bring new blankets to a Savannah-area Starbucks.
A blanket just makes a tremendous difference," Lyons said. "And, you know, it’s not just the physical effects of it, it’s the fact that they know someone in the community cared enough to think of them. So, it’s like getting a hug at the same time.
According to Lyons, the first blanket deliveries will go to their Meals on Wheels clients, and she said she hopes to serve more of Savannah’s senior citizens with help from the community.
As a special thank you, Lyons said that Starbucks will provide a free tall coffee to everyone who donates in December.
