Oliver Tree announces new album, 'Cowboy Tears'; listen to single "Cowboys Don't Cry" now

Oliver Tree has announced a new album called Cowboy Tears.

The sophomore effort from the "Hurt" artist -- and the follow-up to his 2020 debut Ugly Is Beautiful -- will arrive February 18. According to a press release, the record will find Tree "embracing a new twangy, country sound."

"Cowboys are the toughest guys," Tree says. "It's okay for us tough guys to cry, and the thing is, it's okay for everyone to cry."

"There's a lot of anger that comes out of holding in your emotions, and that's really popular for guys," he adds. "Cowboy Tears is teaching people how to let it out and be able to put it out in a way that isn't going to be violent or self-destructive."

The first single off Cowboy Tears, titled "Cowboys Don't Cry," is available now for digital download. It's accompanying video, starring Bella Thorne, is streaming now on YouTube.

Tree will perform a medley of "Cowboys Don't Cry" and "Life Goes On," a single off the Ugly Is Beautiful deluxe release, on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live! this Thursday, January 13.
