Physician General: 'COVID vaccines do not cause fertility issues'

Acting Health Secretary and the Physician General are strongly urging those who are pregnant or plan to become pregnant to get vaccinated against COVID-19.

They said that the evidence is clear that the COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective and do not cause fertility issues in women or men.
The vaccine provides protection for babies as well as their mothers.
Physician General, Dr. Denise Johnson said:
The vaccines, when they are received during pregnancy, build antibodies the same as if you weren't pregnant. The antibodies in your pregnancy can show up in the umbilical cord of the baby and can provide protection for your baby as your baby is developing.
They also say that COVID-19 vaccines prevent severe maternal health problems and adverse birth outcomes.
