On the Paul

Manchester United star Paul Pogba needs a fresh start and should swap Old Trafford for a club that matches his ambitions, according to Leeds hero Olivier Dacourt.

Dacourt told SunSport via freebets.com: "Manchester United are one of the biggest teams in the world.

"But when you play so many years for one club, sometimes you need change to progress as a footballer.

"You get into bad habits, do the same things over and over again and can end up just going through the motions.

"If Paul decides to leave Manchester United, he needs to join a big club that matches his ambitions and who can give him a real challenge"

United next manager latest

Manchester United could appoint their next manager before the end of the season.

That is according to the Manchester Evening News, who report that there have been developments in United's process to settle on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's full-time replacement.

Bellingham target for summer

Manchester United have identified Borussia Dortmund ace Jude Bellingham as their top summer target.

That is according to The Athletic, who report United's hierarchy want to sign Bellingham regardless of who will be in charge at the dugout.

The Red Devils are facing the prospect of losing star midfielder Paul Pogba as a free agent in June.

That means the Manchester giants will need to strengthen in the middle of the park

Bruno contract bonus

Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes wants to become one of the club's top earners to stay at Old Trafford.

Fernandes penned a five-year deal with the option of a further 12-months when he joined United in 2020.

We revealed several months ago that the playmaker was in talks over a new bumper contract to boost his wages up to around £250,000-a-week.

Now The Athletic are reporting that ‘those talks have been temporarily shelved’ after the Portugal international's representatives turned down an offer in the autumn.

They claim that talks will resume again in May once the current season is over

Food for thought

A Manchester United star allegedly warned an opponent not to eat the ‘s***’ food provided for them at Old Trafford.

Due to new Covid-19 restrictions, United now dish out packed lunches for both them and their opponents.

Staff place the boxes on a table outside of the changing rooms at the Theatre of Dreams.

But the Daily Mail report that the post-match food has largely been ‘left untouched’.

And they even state that one player was so unimpressed by the food that they even dished out a warning to one of their rivals.

They claim a Red Devils player told an opponent ‘Don't eat them, they're s***’

Ron the move

Manchester United and Chelsea are both interested in Barcelona star Ronald Araujo.

That is according to Marca, who claim that United and the Blues are looking to make a move for Araujo as his contract with Barca expires next year.

The Premier League duo may look to make a deal with the Blaugrana, who are still dealing with financial woes.

The Red Devils are looking to boost their backline whereas the west Londoners are facing the prospect of losing Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen and Cesar Azpilicueta for free this summer

Neves transfer warning

Former Manchester United star Paul Parker has warned his former club amid their interest in Wolves star Ruben Neves.

Parker told indiabetting: If I’m Ruben Neves, and after Ruben Neves destroyed Manchester United with his compatriot and teammate [Joao] Moutinho, I wouldn’t want to leave Wolves and play with the players in this Manchester United midfield.

"Maybe you’ll say I play with [Bruno] Fernandes, because they know each other, they’ve played together.

"The likes of Fred and [Scott] McTominay, everyone talks about them working hard. They do because they have to, because they’re always chasing all the time. That’s the way it is.

"Does he want to do that? That’s not his game, his game is with the ball in his feet and seeing movement early.

"So I would say yes to Ruben Neves coming to Manchester United, but for someone of his ability and his sanity, I think common sense will prevail at the moment and he stays where he is.

"I think Neves would be a great player for Manchester United, but not in a team they got at this moment in time"

Dembele January hunt

Chelsea have joined the transfer war for Barcelona contract rebel and Manchester United target Ousmane Dembele.

The Blues are facing competition from Juventus as well as United during the January transfer window.

According to Sport, the Red Devils and Juve have been in ‘especially intense’ contact with Dembele’s representatives since 2021.

And the report even adds a suggestion that the striker may have already signed a pre-contract agreement with one of those two clubs.

The report also adds the west Londoners have been in touch with the France international this January over a potential offer

Lindelof on Elang'a future

Manchester United ace Victor Lindelof believes fellow countryman and team-mate Anthony Elanga has all of the necessary tools to make a name for himself.

Lindelof told United's official website: "Of course, I talk to him a lot. He's a great talent and I'm very happy for him, getting more and more minutes at the club.

"He's a young player, a good talent, who comes in here every day and really wants to improve his game. He works very, very hard and I'm pleased for him.

"If he keeps doing the things he's doing at the moment, I think he's going to have a great future ahead of him. It's all about staying humble and to keep working hard"

Zorc reacts to Haaland statement

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc addressed Erling Haaland’s claim that he has been set a deadline to decide his future.

Zorc  told Kicker: “Haaland’s comments surprised us a bit.

“There is no deadline and there have not even been any talks yet.

“But we want to hold talks at some point”

Manchester United are having doubts about Borussia Monchengladbach star Denis Zakaria.

That is according to The Athletic, who report that United scouts are unconvinced by Zakaria.

The midfielder has been linked with the Red Devils for quite a while now.

And the Manchester giants are facing the prospect of losing Paul Pogba in the summer as his contract runs out

Ronald Araujo rumours

Manchester United have been linked with Barcelona ace Ronald Araujo following shock rumours from Spain.

According to Marca, Araujo has attracted interest from various clubs, including United.

Araujo has amassed 22 appearances across all competition this season

That is according to The Athletic, who claim United offered a new deal in the autumn.

Talks over fresh terms have temporarily been parked and are set to resume in May.

Borussia Dortmund's Haaland surprise

Borussia Dortmund have been left 'surprised' by Manchester United target Erling Haaland's claim he has been set a deadline to decide his future.

Haaland recently said: “Borussia Dortmund are now pushing me to make a decision about things… but I just want to play football.

"That probably means that I will soon have to get things started. I never spoke until now to respect the club.

“Dortmund have started to put lot of pressure on me. They want me to decide [my future] now.

"And so yes, things will happen now, even if I only wanted to focus on football and play football.”

These quotes have stunned Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc - who has publicly insisted no such talks have taken place between the player and Dortmund

Can do no Ron

Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick backed Cristiano Ronaldo’s brutal attack on his struggling team-mates and warned: It’s time they all listened.

Ronaldo claimed United are facing a 'nightmare' season unless players’ attitudes changed.

Rangnick said: "The older and younger players have to play as a team and be united on the pitch.

“We have so many top, talented players and it brings me back to what Cristiano said — we have to work and develop as a team together.

“If it’s necessary to speak in a very direct manner to the boys, it helps a lot, even in the locker room.

“If Cristiano, or any of the other players, address that to the players directly on the pitch, or in the dressing room, they are more than welcome to do that.

“We now have enough experienced, older players who can not only be role models themselves in training, on the pitch and in games.

“But they can also do that in all those conversations in the locker room, or when they are together in the hotel ahead of games. This has to happen. In a team, in a united team, that happens automatically.

“And I can only invite, challenge and tell all the players — also the older players — to do that on a regular basis.

“That helps even more so in a team that we have currently”

Martial hits back at Rangnick

Manchester United wantaway star Anthony Martial hit back at interim manager Ralf Rangnick after he claimed the player refused to travel to Aston Villa.

Martial was absent from the matchday squad amid speculation he could be leaving Old Trafford this month but he denied allegations he refused to play.

The forward posted on Instagram: "I will never refuse to play a match for Man United.

"I've been here for seven years and I never disrespected and will never disrespect the club and the fans"

Good morning Red Devils fans

Bruno Fernandes claims the time for excuses is running out - and Newcastle want Phil Jones.

Midfielder Fernandes saw Aston Villa cancel out his two goals in Saturday's 2-2 draw.

Both the Portuguese star and interim boss Ralf Rangick fumed at the Red Devils crumbling.

But with United visiting Brentford on Wednesday, Fernandes wants the recriminations to end sharply.

He said: “The frustration is there but it’s now time to carry on because the next game is coming quick.

“As I said before, now it’s time to understand what we can do better and go to the next game and try to win. That will be another tough game.”

Meanwhile, 29-year-old Jones could finally revive his career after injuries.

Yet United are reportedly holding out for £15million despite the ex-England ace being way down their list of centre-back options.

Wantaway frontman Anthony Martial has denied suggestions he declined to play in Saturday's stalemate.

Rangnick has already revealed Martial wants to leave this month.

But the Frenchman said: “I will never refuse to play a match for Manchester United.

“I’ve been here for seven years and I never disrespected and will never disrespect the club and the fans.”

Finally, Borussia Dortmund have sought to defuse United target Erling Haaand's claim that the Bundesliga giants are pushing him to decide his future.

Dortmund’s sporting director Michael Zorc told Kicker: “Erling’s statements surprised us a bit.

“There is currently no deadline, no deadlines, and there have not even been any discussions. But that we want and have to have talks at some point is clear, understandable and only professional.”

Dortmund stunned by Erling claim

Borussia Dortmund have been left ‘surprised’ by Erling Haaland’s claim he has been set a deadline to decide his future.

The 21-year-old Norwegian’s £64million release clause promises to make him one of the most sought after players in world football this summer – with Manchester United and City reportedly keen.

And earlier this week Haaland revealed Dortmund are applying pressure on him to make up his mind about where he wants to be next season – and want him to do so by the end of January.

He said: “Borussia Dortmund are now pushing me to make a decision about things… but I just want to play football.

“That probably means that I will soon have to get things started. I never spoke until now to respect the club.

“Dortmund have started to put lot of pressure on me. They want me to decide [my future] now. And so yes, things will happen now, even if I only wanted to focus on football and play football.”These quotes have stunned Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc – who has publicly insisted no such talks have taken place between the player and the club.

He told Kicker: “Haaland’s comments surprised us a bit. There is no deadline and there have not even been any talks yet.

“But we want to hold talks at some point.”

Utd 'want £15m for Toon target Jones'

Toon want Kenyon

Newcastle are keen to add the experienced Peter Kenyon to their management team as chief executive.

The former Manchester United and Chelsea supremo is a leading candidate to run the club off the field.

The new Toon owners want expertise and have already teed up Dan Ashworth for a top role.

But Kenyon is seen as ideal for CEO because of his organisational skills and to drive commercial expansion.

Kenyon has advised clubs since leaving Chelsea but this would be his first big post for some time.

The Toon have been trying to reshape their off-the-field team.

Nick Hammond has worked in a key role in deals since Lee Charnley left.

Kenyon oversaw transfers at both United and Chelsea.

And Newcastle have been inundated with players being offered by agents — and will need work on that area in future windows.

Nani an instant hero

Ex-Manchester United star Nani made an instant impact for Italian side Venezia as he came off the bench to provide an assist after just ONE MINUTE.

The 35-year-old signed for the Serie A outfit on Friday, agreeing an 18-month deal with the newly-promoted team.

And he wasted no time in making his mark as he helped his new club clinch a vital point in their battle to avoid the drop.

Venezia were 1-0 down at home to mid-table Empoli with 18 minutes remaining.

In need of a fresh attacking threat, manager Paolo Zanetti brought Nani on in a bid to find an equaliser.

And it was an inspired decision from the Venezia head coach.

Just 60 seconds into his debut the ex-Red Devils man played a neat one-two with Nedim Bajrami before darting into the penalty area.

He swiftly slotted the ball into the path of fellow substitute David Okereke who lashed the ball home.

Jubilant scenes ensued as Nani sprinted off to celebrate with the rest of his new teammates and fans.

Venezia are now two points clear of the relegation zone as they look to avoid dropping straight back down to Serie B.

Ralf so wrong

Owen Hargreaves has rubbished Rangnicks claims that United bossed yesterday's 2-1 draw at Aston Villa.

He told Premier League Productions: “Ralf Rangnick said they had ‘control of the game’ but look at the stats!”

“I mean 45% possession…is that ‘having control?

“In the second half they only had 35% possession so I mean that’s not good enough.

“In terms of the scoreline you look at 2-0 and you think you’ve got control but actually United [didn’t have control].”

No demands made

Borussia Dortmund have expressed dismay over Haaland’s remarks claiming that the German side were pressuring him to make a decision over his future.

Dortmund’s sporting director Michael Zorc insisted that they’ve made no such demands.

Zorc told Kicker: “Erling’s statements surprised us a bit.

“There is currently no deadline, no deadlines, and there have not even been any discussions. But that we want and have to have talks at some point is clear, understandable and only professional.”
