DIY Pressed Flower Art: How to use a microwave to create your own pieces

Pressed flower art is the old-turned-new obsession we are smitten with!

You spend good money, even creative energy and thought, on fresh flowers for a special gift or event. So you can appreciate the sentimental urge to save them.
Dry them, press them, mount them, and frame them. Pressed flower art is new again.

Self-proclaimed flower evangelist, Ashleigh Rose has her pulse on the pressed flower obsession. She shares several different projects you can do with the resurgent art form.

Ashleigh Rose began working with flowers in the back of her grandmother’s flower shop on Main Street in Bountiful, Utah.  Under her grandmother’s tutelage, she learned how to design flowers, forage for natural elements in the outdoors and care for cut flowers plus how to make anything beautiful. Ashleigh is a painter, sculptor, photographer, mother, best wife ever and last but not least — an evangelist of flowers! She wants to share her knowledge and help others appreciate the divine creations that are flowers. Find Ashleigh at @monalisafair on Instagram.
