We finally have a Kirby and the Forgotten Land release date. Nintendo has released a new trailer that reveals when the game is launching. The trailer also shows off some of Kirby's abilities and details how co-op will work in the game (hint: it's adorable).

What does the new Kirby and the Forgotten Land trailer show?

The trailer shows off some of the new settings and gameplay in Kirby and the Forgotten Land, which was originally announced last September. You'll play as Kirby, of course, and you'll be able to eat enemies to copy their abilities as usual. Kirby and the Forgotten Land is a 3D platformer, unlike many of the series' previous entries. A second player will be able to join in the action as a Waddle Dee, too, wielding a spear and using it to help Kirby in his quest. You can check out the new trailer, which shows off some of the new areas, below. Is that a snowy Dark Souls castle we spy?

Along with many returning fan favorite abilities, including the Sword, you'll also find at least two new abilities. The Drill allows Kirby to burrow underground and can be used to battle pesky evasive below-ground enemies like moles. It looks like Kirby has been learning from Joker in Super Smash Bros, too, because the new Ranger ability appears to give him a gun, albeit a blunderbuss-style wide-barreled one. You can use that to fight enemies from afar. It also looks like you'll be able to explore an adorable Waddle Dee village complete with friendly NPCs and some sort of Maxim Tomato cooking minigame. Frankly, it all looks too cute for words.

What is the Kirby and the Forgotten Land release date?

It looks like those "Kirby: Discovery" rumors of a spring release date were true. The Kirby and the Forgotten Land release date is March 25th. That means this endearing-looking 3D adventure is just a little over two months away. We first got wind of a new 3D Kirby platformer in development way back in the mists of 2020, but it looks like Kirby fans won't have much longer to wait for their fix of the little pink blob and his Waddle Dee buddies.

This Kirby and the Forgotten Land Waddle Dee village is almost painfully adorable.

If you're so inclined, you can pre-order Kirby and the Forgotten Land via the official website right now. It'll set you back $59.99. Nintendo doesn't look to be offering any pre-order bonuses for the game, but you will, of course, get My Nintendo Gold points if you buy it digitally. Here's hoping this one turns out to be as gosh-darn cute as it looks.
