Anacrusis Enemies

The Anacrusis is a new co-op experience that let's players fight through hordes of enemies, and special enemies, in order to survive and make it through the story. There are a few enemies you'll encounter along the way, and our The Anacrusis Enemy guide will offer some tips and strategies to take them down. Combine this guide with our Anacrusis Weapons Guide for max effect!

The Anacrusis Enemies - The Alien Horde

These are the base enemies, an alien threat that's taken over the starship our four playable characters are trying to escape from. They're easy to take down, but in greater numbers they can threaten your team.
Tips for fighting the horde

Your pistol will generally one-shot these enemies, but when bombarded by numerous enemies, you'll want to rely on your primary weapons, as well as grenades to thin the ranks. If you're overwhelmed, a quick pulse can give you the breathing room you need to take them down.

The Anacrusis Enemies - Special Aliens

If you've played games like Left 4 Dead, or Back 4 Blood - you're used to the special enemies that spawn randomly to keep you on your toes. The Anacrusis has much of the same, although they are unique to special enemies you've seen before.

Brute Guide Anacrusis

The Brute

This is the big boy - and he will smack you around with ease. He's a bit of a bullet sponge, and can easily break through a shield grenade. Keep as much distance as you can, and lay fire into him.

Anacrusis Brute Tips:

  • Your pistol is effectively useless.
  • The brute can break through shield grenades in one hit.
  • The Stasis Grenade is great at slowing the brute down - use this and lure him into it, then you can burn down his health.
  • The Arc Rifle and Laser Rifle are both incredibly effective.
  • Creating a Goo/Incendiary Trap is very helpful
Gooper Anacrusis Guide

The Gooper

The Gooper shoots their, uh…goo at you. It'll lock you in place until your teammates shoot it off you. You can pretty easily dodge, but you can still get hit if you're stuck in a horde.

Anacrusis Gooper Tips:

  • Primary Weapons / Pistols are effective in just a few shots, special weapons kill quickly.
  • Quickly focus fire this enemy.
  • Shield Grenade blocks Gooper shots.
  • Don't waste your grenades on this enemy unless you have to.
Grabber Anacrusis Guide
TALK ABOUT RANGE

The Grabber

The Grabber will grab and damage you until one of your teammates can down it. The moment your team yells "Grabber!" it's best to burn this enemy down.

Anacrusis Grabber Tips:

  • Primary Weapons are effective in just a few shots, special weapons kill quickly.
  • Grab range is LONG - take this enemy down quickly.
  • Damage from being grabbed is 2-3/sec.
  • Don't waste your grenades on this enemy unless you have to.
Spawner Anacrusis Guide
Can confirm: He makes this like "cute" little noise, but is not very cute.

The Spawner

The Spawner continually spawns these little orbs that roll at you, deploy, and then pepper you with shots. They're not super powerful, but combined with a horde and other specials - they're super annoying.

Anacrusis Spawner Tips:

  • Primary Weapons / Pistols are effective in just a few shots, special weapons kill quickly.
  • It's worth running past the spawns to take the Spawner down to stop more coming.
  • It runs, and pretty quickly - chasing can be annoying.
  • Don't waste your grenades on this enemy unless you have to.
Flasher Anacrusis
MY EYES

The Flasher

The flasher is honestly a really neat enemy. It creates a blinding field of light, that makes it hard to see much of anything unless you take it down. Taking it down is difficult, because you…can't see well.

Anacrusis Flasher Tips:

  • Primary Weapons / Pistols are effective in just a few shots, special weapons kill quickly.
  • The Target Protocol Perk is super effective at finding this enemy in the blinding light.
  • The Flasher tends to join the horde - aim for the brightest spots.
Alien Eggs

Alien Eggs

Alien eggs are randomly spawned, and alerting them will have every egg rolling right at you - bouncing off you to damage you.

Anacrusis Egg Tips:

  • When you hear a sort of "Singing" - that means Eggs are nearby.
  • If you haven't startled them yet - hit 'em with an Impact Grenade. It's a 1-hit kill.
  • Stasis Grenades don't work on Eggs!
  • Focus fire each one down if you miss the above.
  • Shield Grenades will protect you from Eggs, slow them down with Stasis Grenades.

That's it for the enemies in The Anacrusis, at least for the launch edition. With more content planned, we're sure to see a few more over time potentially!
