Intel to scale back its NUC 12 plans with no Performance model as NUC 12 Pro SKU options detailed

In December, it emerged that Intel had started discontinuing some NUC 11 mini-PCs, less than a year after their launch. Now, FanlessTech reports that the company has scaled back its NUC 12 plans. Supposedly, Intel has discontinued the NUC Performance series, with the ASUS PN and Gigabyte BRIX series taking its place. FanlessTech adds that the discontinuation of NUC Performance could be permanent, which would make the NUC 11 Performance the last of its kind for a while.

However, FanlessTech insists that the NUC 12 Pro remains on the cards and is 'coming soon'. Apparently, the NUC 12 Pro will resemble its predecessor and will be available in numerous SKUs. Specifically, FanlessTech alleges that Intel will launch slim and tall versions of all SKUs, which have M.2 SSD and SATA drive slots, respectively.

Reputedly, the NUC 12 Pro will arrive with vPro and non-vPro options, starting with a Core i3 non-vPro processor. Incidentally, vPro options will only be available with Core i5 or Core i7 processors. Liliputing believes that NUC 12 Enthusiast and NUC 12 Extreme are on their way too, but Fanless Tech has not provided any additional details on these.
