Authorities said the incident began around 10 p.m. on Dec. 26 at a bodega on the corner of Morris Park Avenue and White Plains Road in the Parkchester section of the borough.

An argument reportedly broke out between the couple and the 50-year-old victim when the boyfriend accused the customer of “leering” at his girlfriend, according to WABC-TV.

Police said the two got into a verbal altercation that quickly turned physical when the boyfriend displayed a firearm, and the girlfriend threatened the victim with a hammer.

Outside, the woman continued to beat the man as he attempted to fight back.

Video showed that while the man and woman brawled, the boyfriend fired his handgun at least one time, striking the side of the bodega.
