PS5 Restock Update for Walmart, GameStop, Amazon, Target, Best Buy, Costco and More

After a slow start to the year, there is finally something to look forward to in terms of PS5 restocks.

Not only have some outlets already coordinated small drops in 2022, but there are now two more that have been officially confirmed for later this week.

To get you clued up on which stores are restocking and when, Newsweek has prepared the following breakdown.

Walmart PS5 Restock

As we predicted in our last restock update, Walmart will be selling the PS5 on Thursday, January 13.

You can bookmark the relevant product page on the outlet's website here, so that you are ready to add it to your basket as quickly as possible when the time comes.

However, there is a catch as it turns out that this drop is exclusively reserved for Walmart Plus members. If you don't know much about this premium loyalty scheme, it charges a $98 annual membership fee and entitles you to various discounts, early access sales and unlimited delivery on your purchases.

If you don't mind paying the extra money, then you can sign up now and get ready for the upcoming Walmart PS5 restock. The event in question will be taking place at 3 p.m. ET on January 13.

Incidentally, you cannot cheat the system by redeeming a free trial of Walmart Plus just to access this restock. Instead, you must actually be a paying member of the loyalty scheme.

GameStop PS5 Restock

Reputable console tracker Matt Swider has confirmed that GameStop will be selling the PS5 on Friday, January 14.

Like many of the outlet's recent drops, this will be an in-store only event, meaning that you will have to pick up the console yourself in person.

The full list of stores that are participating in this restock will be revealed closer to Friday itself.

Amazon PS5 Restock

On the cusp of the new year, Amazon managed to coordinate one last 2021 PS5 restock.

Given the recency of this, it is unlikely that there will be another drop any time soon. The online marketplace typically schedules its console restocks on a monthly basis after all.

With that in mind, we would advise that you keep an eye on Amazon's PS5 product pages closer to the back end of January, as that's when the inventory is due for its next update.

Target PS5 Restock

There was recently an opportunity to get a PS5 from Target, but this was largely dependent on where you live in the United States.

The chain organized a series of restocks at its branches across the country, with the inventory levels varying on a store-by-store basis. Some locations only had about 20 units, while others (in major cities like New York or L.A.) had upwards of 150.

It's theoretically possible that there might be some leftovers from this event, provided that your local store wasn't picked clean. To see if that's the case, head over to Target's website and use the ZIP-code search field to check the inventories of any nearby outlets.

Antonline PS5 Restock

Shortly after we published our last update, Antonline updated its inventory with new PlayStation units.

As per usual, the console sold out within minutes and even some of the most prepared shoppers were unable to place an order. If you browse the Antonline website now, then you will not be able to find any PS5s or Xbox Series X bundles.

However, the Xbox Series S remains available at the outlet in a few different packages. To find out more about these deals (which seem to be in less demand) click here.

Best Buy PS5 Restock

Best Buy was last selling the PS5 on Wednesday, January 5, but its stock has now been thoroughly depleted.

To be alerted as soon as the situation changes, we recommend that you follow dedicated console trackers like @GYXdeals and @Wario64 on Twitter and switch on notifications.

PS Direct PS5 Restock

When it comes to Sony's official storefront, PS5 restocks work a little differently from how they do everywhere else.

In order to join the virtual line whenever it opens, you must have received an explicit invitation from the merchant ahead of time. Otherwise, you will simply be unable to get to the relevant product page.

These exclusive sales occur periodically throughout the year, with the most recent one having taken place on Thursday, January 6.

If you want to be considered for future PS Direct restocks, then it's vital that you express your interest on the relevant webpage. More information about this can be found here.

Once you are registered, make sure that you regularly check your email for notifications. The lucky ones who end up being selected for prospective drops will receive communication from Sony ahead of time, informing them when the virtual line is opening.

Newegg PS5 Restock

Those hoping to get a PS5 from Wednesday's Newegg Shuffle will be disappointed to learn that the console is not featured anywhere in this lottery.

Instead, the contents of the draw are entirely geared towards PC gamers, with video cards and motherboards being the hot ticket items.

Sam's Club PS5 Restock

If you are interested in picking up an Xbox Series S, then there are some up for grabs at Sam's Club.

Microsoft's all-digital console is available as either a standalone item or as part of a bundle. The latter costs $399.98 and ships with currency vouchers for Fortnite and Rocket League, as well as an additional controller and a wired headset.

At the time of writing, the PS5 is not in stock at Sam's Club.

Costco PS5 Restock

Costco has not been selling the PS5 since October 2021.

While this would constitute a lengthy hiatus for any other retailer, Costco barely ever restocks, and it was a bit of a shock when it did last time.

The next time that there is an unexpected drop here, the likes of @GYXdeals and @Wario64 will let their Twitter followers know.
