On the whole, she looks a fun character to play, dancing around enemies weaving her Sesshou Sakura, before using her burst to rain down thunderbolts in those precise locations. It's a little similar to the Electro crowfeathers that Sara can plant, except the synergy between burst and skill seems to be a lot stronger here.

Many might have expected Yae Miko to be an Electro support character, helping her bestie, the Raiden Shogun, shine on the battlefield. But on the contrary, Yae is a fully-fledged damage dealer, and it'll be exciting to see what she can do when her release rolls around. In this Genshin Impact Yae Miko build guide, there are some theorycrafted suggestions that are likely to do well for the Electro Kitsune when she finally launches.

Builds

The best Genshin Impact Yae Miko build

Yae Miko is all using her skill to plant Sesshou Sakura around her enemies, dealing Electro damage, before detonating them with her Tenko Kenshin burst to cause powerful AoE Electro damage. In this sense, you'll want to boost her Electro output, while also giving her plenty of energy recharge so she can use her expensive burst:

Electro DPS

  • Weapon: Kagura’s Verity

Yae's signature five-star catalyst is tailor-made for her. It boosts crit damage as a substat, and grants the Kagura Dance effect, causing elemental skill damage to increase by 12% over 16 seconds when you use a skill. This stacks up to three times. It's a great weapon for boosting Yae's crit potential, and the damage that her Sesshou Sakura deal.

A decent no-spend option might be the new Oathsworn Eye catalyst you can get for free in version 2.5, since it buffs energy recharge by 24% for 10 seconds when you use an elemental skill. Yae needs 90 energy to use her burst, so giving her a little help is handy.

  • Artifacts: (2) Thundering Fury, (2) Emblem of Severed Fate

Two-pieces of Thundering Fury boost Electro damage by 15%, and since Yae is an Electro catalyst-user, this is the only form of damage she deals. Two-pieces of Emblem of Severed Fate buff energy recharge by 20%, helping Yae use her costly burst more often. If you manage to get plenty of energy recharge through artifact substats, you could also swap Emblem for two-pieces of Wanderer's Troupe for that 80 increase in elemental mastery.

Yae's "Enlightened Blessing" passive boosts the damage of her Sesshou Sakura by 0.15% for every point of elemental mastery she has. In terms of substats, you'll want an Electro damage bonus if you have one, then you'll want attack, energy recharge, crit rate, and crit damage. More elemental mastery will also boost her reaction damage and the power of her Sesshou Sakura, but it's worth considering whether you want to build her towards reaction or crit damage.

Release date

What is the Genshin Impact Yae Miko release date?

The Genshin Impact Yae Miko release date is February 16. The 2.5 special programme confirmed the beta leaks and rumours about her arriving as a playable character in the upcoming version. As we're getting reruns for the Raiden Shogun and Kokomi in the second half, Yae Miko is the only new character being released in 2.5.

Ascension materials

Yae Miko's Ascension materials

Character

You'll need to hunt down specific Ascension materials if you want to level up Yae Miko. The Vajrada Amethyst items are dropped by Electro Hypostases and the Thunder Manifestation boss on Seirai Island, but you'll want to fight the Bathysmal Vishap boss in Enkanomiya, as you also need the Dragonheir's False Fins that it drops. On top of these, you'll need two world materials:

  • Sea Ganoderma
  • Old/Kageuchi/Famed Handguard

The Sea Ganoderma is a plant-like collectable found around the coasts of every island in the Inazuma region, and you can see them all on the official Genshin Impact map. Lastly, the Handguard items are looted from Nobushi, the wandering swordsmen enemies found around Inazuma.

Talents

There are more Ascension materials to collect if you want to level up Yae Miko's talents. These are:

  • Teachings/Guide/Philosophies of Light
  • Old/Kageuchi/Famed Handguard
  • Raiden Shogun boss material
  • Crown of Insight

The Light items are rewards for completing the Violet Court domain on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The Handguard variants are dropped by Nobushi in Inazuma, and the Crown of Insight is a reward from various seasonal activities, like Midsummer Island Adventure or Thunder Sojourn. You can also get this item as a one-off reward by upgrading the Frostbearing Tree in Dragonspine or the Sacred Sakura in Inazuma.

There is also a mystery boss material that's expected to come from the new weekly Raiden Shogun boss that's arriving in version 2.5. As with other weekly bosses, you'll be able to craft it with any of the materials as long as you have Dream Solvent.
