Is Danny Dyer leaving Eastenders to be Doctor Who?

Just read this from the Doctor Who Page on Facebook... Might explain why Danny threw in the towel with Eastenders if he did. I personally can't see it happening but imagine it actually did.

🚨 Danny Dyer to play the next Doctor? 🚨

Rumours have been circulating that Dyer could be on the list of potential replacements.

He has spoken about wanting to play the Doctor before. “I could see myself in the scarf and all that. I think I could do it easy. I'd keep my accent too.”

    Nonsense.

It's been confirmed Danny Dyer is going to Sky, so unless Sky have taken rights for Doctor Who, you're more likely going to see Danny Dyer present Gillette Soccer Saturday as opposed to Doctor Who anytime soon.

And people thought Jodie Whittaker was a bad choice.

Daleks would be called Garlics for starters.

Jeff Stelling will be a hard act to follow.

I think I would honestly at least watch the first episode of Danny Dyer’s version of Doctor Who.

I’d take him of Jodie Whittaker. However i’m 95% certain we will get and another female. The Whittaker era needs making not cannon for me watch anything after as the Timeless Child retcon alone has killed the show.l for myself and many - Plus on top of that she has been dreadful and its been too overly PC and in your face. RTD may bring back some energy but anything Timeless Child related…I’m out regardless.

Thanks, @Crystal. Just doing my bit to keep you guys entertained!

Personally speaking, I think Danny Dyer would be more suited to play Del Boy Trotter in a reboot of Only Fools and Horses...

Danny Dyer as Del Boy: "Oyyyyyy!! Rodney, yer PLONKER!!! You're doin' my NUT IN!! Get your arse outta bed, yer lazy sod!! We got dodgy gear to sell!! The woooorld is our OYSTER!! This time tomorrow we're gunna be millionaires, I tell yer!! Millionaires!!
Lindaaaa, where's me dinner?! ...Never mind, yer tart, I'll grab a bite to eat at The Nag's Head!!"

I wouldn't be so sure, Trev... :hushed:

Danny Dyer as James Bond: "The name's Bond!! Jaaaames Bond!! 007, License to Dick About!! Cor, blimey! You're lookin' fit tonight, Lindaaaa!! Howz about we go upstairs and "open our Christmas presents"?!! Let's just try and keep the noise down, eh?! We don't want Her Majesty The Queen hearin' about this!! Oooh nooh... who the F*CK sprayed graffiti on ma new Aston Maaartin?!! Someone's gunna PAY FOR THAT!! Must've been my jealous ex, Pussy Galore!! She's been sniffin' me around lately!! That biiird does my NUT IN!!"

I dunno, maybe they'll play it ultra safe with the 14th Doctor, then when the show is in a better position be a bit bolder and riskier with the 15th Doctor. Personally I hate the idea of a female Doctor but some people do like it, and I think it could theoretically work but people are so fed up with Whittaker that I think it would be a bad move to have another female Doctor straight after as people already have this shitty era as what they immediately think of when they think of a female Doctor.

Let the 13th Doctor fade out of the immediate public memory, cast a relatively safe Doctor for 14, get the show to a healthier place, and then in a few years maybe approach the idea of a female Doctor again.

Going back to EastEnders, I think Rose Ayling-Ellis might be a decent idea for a companion at some point in the near future.

I'd LOVE this - imagine the reaction on here!

Being serious, I would not love this as he's clearly not right for the role, although it would be funny for a one-off for Comic Relief or something!
