The Book of Boba Fett continues with an explosive third chapter titled "The Streets of Mos Espa", which was directed by Robert Rodriguez. And this time, you'll be delighted to know that the latest episode spends a lot more time in Boba's present than it does his past, and even packs a few surprising punches during its 30-minute runtime.
"The Streets of Mos Espa" might just be the best episode of The Book of Boba Fett yet, and if you're wondering why, don't worry, because we're about to recap the entire episode and explain that ending!
Here's The Book of Boba Fett Episode 3 ending explained...
Outside Jabba's Palace, we see a spider-like droid crawling along the rocks. Inside, Matt Berry's droid UK2-B is talking to Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison) and Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) about the late Jabba, and how under Bib Fortuna's watch, Mos Espa was split into three different territories.
He warns Boba that his reliance on easy alliances to preserve his tribute and title is only lining the pockets of Mayor Mok Shaiz. A Mos Espa local then enters, who tells Boba that no one respects him, and that since he dethroned Bib, the streets of Mos Espa have fallen into chaos, and warns of a gang who has been costing him many credits.
Wasting no time, Boba, Fennec, and their two Gamorreans servants take to the streets, and find a gang of youths - each of whom has droid parts infused with their body - stealing water. However, the merciful Boba shows leniency and offers each of the youths jobs working for him at the palace.
We then cut to Boba in his bacta tank, where, once again, he dreams of himself as a young boy (Daniel Logan) on Kamino, watching has his father Jango Fett (played by Temuera Morrison in Star Wars: Episode II: Attack of the Clones) flies off in his starship, through the dark, stormy skies.
Jumping back in time to Tatooine's Dune Sea, Boba visits the head of the Pike Syndicate in Mos Eisley, to collect the toll for having passed through the Tusken Raiders' territory in the previous episode. However, Boba is told that the Pikes have already paid a fee to the violent biker gang he previously stole speeders from.
Boba tells the leader that the money is owed to the Tuskens, who have owned the territory since the oceans of Tatooine dried up thousands of years ago. However, upon returning to the Tusken Raider's camp, Boba is horrified to find that the biker gang has destroyed everything and killed everyone.

A distraught Boba then burns the bodies of the Raiders. But we are suddenly snapped from Boba's flashback as Black Krrsantan (the Wookie gladiator) hauls Boba out of his bacta tank in the palace and violently attacks him. Boba's new employees come to his aid and a thrilling action sequence ensues.
Black Krrsantan is eventually led into the throne room, where Fennec opens the trapdoor and drops him into the dungeon below. Afterwards, during a feast, Boba is disturbed by the Twins - the two Hutts from the previous episode - who admit to having sent the Wookie to kill him, but that they now wish to leave Tatooine.
As an apology, the Twins have brought a rancor (which is accompanied by the actor Danny Trejo). Explaining that Tatooine now belongs to the Pikes, that the mayor is working with them, and that as such, the planet is now a "worthless rock", the Hutts have decided to leave. Boba then shows mercy to Black Krrsantan by freeing him.
Down in the dungeon, where Danny Trejo's character has transported the rancor, it is explained that the beast is only a calf, and that it wears 'blinders' over its eyes because the rancors - which are actually emotionally complex creatures - imprint on the first person they come into contact with.
Danny Trejo's character tells Boba that they will begin training the rancor to become his pet, and that, according to legend, the Witches of Dathomir once used to ride them. After removing its blinders, Boba instantly starts to bond with the creature, but is interrupted when UK2-B tells him of the mayor's location.
Boba and Fennec visit the Mayor's home, but he's nowhere to be seen. The mayor's Twi-lek majordomo (David Pasquesi) flees, and Boba's new recruits chase him through Mos Espa on their speeders, eventually catching up with him. Boba then learns from the majordomo that the mayor is hiding with the Pikes.
The episode ends with Boba warning Fennec that they must be prepared to go to war with the Pike Syndicate.
The Book of Boba Fett returns with its fourth episode on January 19.
