Halo Infinite – Big Team Battle Fix in Testing; New Patch Coming in Mid-February

343 Industries is looking to address cheating issues with the upcoming patch. It also has plans to share a roadmap for the future.

For all the issues that Halo Infinite’s multiplayer has had since launch, 343 Industries has been working fairly quickly to address them, from Challenge updates to new playlists and event improvements. Following its holiday break, the development team is “largely back in action” as per community director Brian Jarrard in a forum post. The studio is working on a “broader info update and driving towards being able to share more details and a roadmap to help answer your questions and manage expectations.”

“That exercise is going to take some time to flesh out but please know it’s in process – there’s just a lot to dig into and it’s a rather complicated web of work items / dependencies / priorities, etc… so we want to be sure to share informed, accurate information.” However, Jarrard confirmed that a fix for Big Team Battle’s matchmaking issues is currently being tested. It will move to certification and be deployed as a hot fix. Though that won’t happen this week, “We hope it’s not too much further out and we’ll share an update as soon as we have line of sight on a release date (once we clear ‘cert’, we are then ready to ship).”

Cheating has also been a core issue and the developer is working on a patch for mid-February that “looks to address this and other things, and we’ll have more details to come as we get closer to release.” Currently, it’s working to get “as much as we can into this Feb update while still ensuring no negative impacts or regressions to other parts of the game.”

Halo Infinite is currently available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Check out our review for the campaign here and the multiplayer here. In terms of other future updates, 343 Industries is working to release campaign co-op by May while Forge is planned for late Summer.
