NASCAR driver Kyle Busch comments on the theft
5-year-old Easton Wright is upset, “Because I have no car.”
The kindergarten racer made his debut in July 2021. The tiny driver has dream of making it to NASCAR.
Yet, his quarter midget was stolen from the Tri Valley Quarter Midget Association parking area. The family parked their family in the Livermore, CA lot overnight.
A man pulled up in a stolen track after dark. He hooked up to their racing trailer and drove off.
“Robbers broke in and stole it,” the child told KTVU.
The robbery took place last Monday.
The stolen track was later recovered in Pittsburg after it was abandoned. The trailer was also recovered.
However, the items inside was gone. The thief drilled out the lock on the trailer and emptied it. Tools, a generator, an air compressor and the race car are missing.
The family travels up and down the West coast attending races.
“This is the Little League of NASCAR,” said Tim Wright, Easton’s father.
“There’s really, possibly no worse of a person than a thief and especially somebody that goes and steals from children.”
“It’s heartbreaking that I had to tell my 5-year-old son that someone had broken in and stolen something of his,” he said.
Easton was in tears when he heard that his car was stolen. They’re winter season is set to begin on Jan 15th.
“Can I have my car back?” he asked.

This story has gone viral on social media. It caught the attention of NASCAR driver Kyle Busch, whose son recently joined the Quarter Midget ranks.
Kyle Busch tweeted, “Who steals from a kid? “Please keep ur eyes peeled n help Easton find his race car that was stolen in CA over the weekend.”

A Go Fund Me page has been setup by the family. As of Tuesday, near $6,000 was raised to help put the kid back on the track.
