New York City, NY

Sneakerheads are likely gawking at Lil Uzi Vert’s latest random public sighting based on the iconic Kanye West Nike design era kicks the Philadelphia-bred MC was spotted in.

On Tuesday (January 11), a video began circulating of Uzi jumping in a showtime street performance in New York City to serve up some of his fluid dance moves. Though Lil Uzi Vert’s B-Boy style was clearly a crowd-pleaser judging by the crowd’s applause in the clip, his ultra-rare Nike Air Yeezy 1 kicks are what drew the majority of intrigue on social media.

According toStockX, the specific Yeezy’s Lil Uzi Vert had on were the highly coveted “Zen Grey” 1’s — which start around five thousand dollars and can climb all the way up to $50,000.

Lil Uzi Vert and Kanye West share somewhat of a convoluted history, partially due to the backhanded compliments the pair have offered each other over the years. At the 2018 Grammy Awards, the “Chrome Hearts” rapper explained how Ye inspired him to swag his family out due to his selflessness when it comes to fashion.

However, in 2020 Lil Uzi Vert made a firm stance on his belief that no other artist was on his level, including Kanye West, following the release of his multi-platinum Eternal Atake album.

“On some real shit, Kanye West ain’t fucking with me,” Uzi said in a video Kanye reposted on Twitter. “It’s me, like me. Like, for real though, it’s really me. Like, I ain’t gonna lie. Like, when I be making them songs and those songs only go platinum once, I do that on purpose. I swear.”
