Jeanie died at home surrounded by loved ones on November 19, 2021, following a general decline due to dementia, and the burial was in Mountain Shadow Cemetery, Sonora, California.
Jeanie was also a shop owner in Jamestown for many years, and had so much fun stocking it, and visiting with her customers.
Jeanie was a current beloved member of the Oakdale Seventh-day Adventist Church, and previous to that, an active member of both Sonora, and Modesto Central (California) Seventh-day Adventist church. Jeanie was also an enthusiastic leader in, and participant of, Maranatha Volunteers International for many years and projects. Jeanie enjoyed reading, gardening, traveling, and just loved people.
Jeanie will be missed by husband Joseph Tweedy, daughters Shona Macomber and Shelley Sordo, son David Proctor, step-daughters Christine Anderson, Allie Finch, and Kathie Nickerson, their respective spouses, brother Richard McCarthy, 21 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, and so many others.
Jeanie was preceded in death by first husband, Thomas Proctor, sister Shirly Burchette, and step-grandson Adam Breitigam.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, February 5 at the Oakdale Seventh-day Adventist Church in Oakdale, California. Service will begin at 3b p.m., and be followed by refreshments in the fellowship hall.
