Former US Attorney considering run for US Senate

Christina Nolan, the former U.S. Attorney for Vermont, has filed a statement of candidacy for the U.S Senate seat held by Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-VT, who announced he would retire at the end of his current term.

Nolan was appointed by President Donald Trump in 2017 and served until 2021, when President Joe Biden took office. She would run as a Republican if she decides to officially enter the race, according to a filing with the Federal Election Commission.

Currently, Congressman Peter Welch is the sole Democratic candidate.
