Warwick high schools cancel midterms due to COVID-19 cases, replace exams with ‘enrichment activities’

WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE)- Students at both Pilgrim and Toll Gate High Schools in Warwick will not be taking midterms this year, according to a notice sent to parents on Tuesday.

The notice cited COVID-19 cases and student unfinished learning as the reasons for exam cancelation.

Students instead will be participating in “enrichment activities,” as well as using the allotted time to catch up on course work.

Teachers will be giving graded assignments during the periods, so it is important for students to be present, according to the notice.
