The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is possibly considering new mask guidelines.

This comes as the COVID cases continue to climb with the highly infectious variant, omicron.
N95 and KN95 masks are the most effective at keeping out tiny viral particles, but aren't always readily available.
The CDC also warns that about 60% of KN95 masks are counterfeit.
Rhode Island Hospital infectious disease specialist, Dr. Leonard Mermel, said there are other solutions.
"The cloth mask over the surgical mask presses it closer to your face so there's fewer open areas. The other thing people can do with a surgical mask, you can go online and buy what's called a mask brace. It's something that fits over the mask and it fits closer to the face."
