Jeff Lee at Holland Heating and Cooling suggested making sure you are changing the filter in your furnace, and if you do have pipes freeze on you, here are safe ways to take care of them:
The best thing to do is wrap a heating pad around the frozen or affected areas or what if the frozen pipe is inside a wall, you know what, it's better if you cut open that wall and allow the heat to get to that pipe, rather than deal with a busted pipe inside the wall at a later time. - Jeff Lee, Holland Heating and Cooling
Jeff also mentioned to make sure your exhaust pipes going from your furnace out of your house are clear of any debris.
