Specifically, gamers are confused about how a game that promises to be a full-fledged sequel looks and plays almost identical to its predecessor. Because of this, many players have already lost interest in the title, as evident by the plummeting Twitch viewership. Hardcore players are still hopeful for the future of "Overwatch," as Blizzard has promised extensive character and balance changes. One of these changes hinted at by Blizzard pertains to a hidden mechanic that already exists in the game.

Nintendo fans have waited over five years for a follow-up to the Nintendo Switch. The game had a rocky update, but was worked on for years, and eventually saw "Halo 3: ODST" and "Halo: Reach" added to the collection, with working multiplayer. While Baker didn't have too much to say, he confirmed that the next series to get the collection treatment would be "Gears of War." He said it could possibly launch this year, but it did not seem set in stone. This is just a rumor, so take it with a grain of salt, but the prospect is exciting.

People love Twitch, both as a free platform for entertainment where viewers can interact with their favorite streamers and as a place where they can start their own channels. With rumors that the next "Resident Evil" game could take years to make, Netflix is attempting to fill that gap with its latest video game adaptation. Netflix just released the teaser trailer for its first attempt at making a live-action "Resident Evil" series, showing off around a minute of the show and teasing what the story could be. Between the long-running movie series and the recent attempt at a faithful retelling of the game in "Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City" there have been a ton of "Resident Evil" adaptations. Considering the Metacritic score of some of these projects, it's safe to say that adapting the series is harder than it looks.

For a free-to-play battle royale game, a constant flux of new unlockables, content, and events is paramount to not only retaining the player base but also attracting new players. This is how games like "Fortnite" and "Apex Legends" move the merchandise and create a sense of urgency for players to stay involved throughout the game's life cycle. The same applies to a game like "Call of Duty: Warzone", Activision's foray into the free-to-play battle royale genre.

Even though the 2021 Twitch leaks revealed Critical Role to be the highest earner on the platform, xQc was a relatively close second, reportedly earning nearly $8.5 million between August 2019 and October 2021 in bits and subs alone. Of course, that isn't the only source of his income. Popular streamers are regularly approached about sponsorships and advertising deals, some of which can involve seven or even eight-figure payments to the entertainer in question.

There doesn't seem to be a shortage of video game TV and film adaptations these days. "Sonic the Hedgehog 2" recently made video game movie history, HBO is making a "The Last of Us" TV show, and Netflix's upcoming "Resident Evil" series has spawned a lot of commentary. With other recent examples including film versions of "Uncharted" and "Monster Hunter," it's only natural to wonder which properties will be adapted next. TikTok apparently has plans to get into the gaming market, similar to how Netflix is testing out mobile games. According to a report by Reuters, TikTok is planning to make a massive push into video games, starting with Vietnam as a test market. The games in question are smaller, minigame-style titles, comparable to internet flash games. The aim is to not only increase ad revenue on the app, but also increase the amount of time its 1 billion monthly users spend on the platform. TikTok is going to pull from its parent company ByteDance's catalog of smaller mobile games to add to the app.
