My 2 Cents: Mind your manners and practice airplane etiquette!

WFMY's Stacey Spivey gives her '2 cents' on airplane etiquette and what is her biggest pet peeve about flying.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Let's talk about airplane etiquette.

I recently traveled to Arkansas to see family and friends. We chose to fly because it didn't seem like a good idea to spend 13 hours in a car with a baby.

However, flying has its own challenges.

First, there's the pandemic. With the Omicron variant running rampant, I was a little on edge. We wore our masks and were as safe as possible.

Second, flying with a baby isn't easy.

My daughter did really well for most of the flights, but she did scream for a solid five minutes when we were descending into Greensboro.

I want to apologize to all the passengers on board that flight.

Of all the problems that can happen on a plane, this has got to be my biggest pet peeve of all... how everyone gets off the plane.

I was always taught it's like communion at church. From front to back, row by row, you get up, get your stuff and go. You wait until the row in front of you is done before it's your turn.

I know there are exceptions. Sometimes flights cut it close, and you land in terminal A and need to be in terminal D in 5 minutes, but goodness, can we be a little more patient?

I always see people in the back of the plane push and shove their way up to the front of the plane to get off before anyone else.

Let's just all try to be patient because at some point we all have to get off the plane or get where we're going.

That's just my '2 cents.'
