Armored Core is back! Allegedly.

Armored Core, the mecha shooter game that made FromSoftware famous before Demon Souls, is set to make a comeback. According to a ResetEra forum thread, FromSoftware has started doing surveys about an Armored Core game that's in development. The game is apparently being directed by the Souls genre father Hidetaka Miyazaki. Also, the game currently doesn't have a set title yet, with different iterations of Armored Core and some titles omitting it being offered as options in the survey. The thread poster, Red Liquorice, also shared some screenshots, although the screenshots have been obscured to hide the identity of the poster.

Twitter user Mordecai then reported about the thread on Twitter, even sharing the images on the tweet.

If all of these are true, then FromSoftware will give their older fans something to be excited about. They have been very preoccupied over the past two decades thanks to the massive success of Dark Souls, so much so that many may have no idea that FromSoftware even has other great titles, such as Armored Core, that they have been responsible for. In fact, the last non-Souls game to have been released by FromSoftware was a VR game Déraciné launched in 2018, and Monster Hunter Diary: Poka Poka Airou Village DX in 2015 before that. The last AC game released by FromSoftware was Armored Core: Verdict Day for the PS3 and Xbox 360 way back in 2013. It's been a long time since then, and AC fans are definitely hungry for more. In this case, we hope that the rumors turn out to be true.
