Cindy Williams' 'Me Myself and Shirley' postponed till summer 2022

Cindy Williams will take the stage at the Rio Grande Theatre in a one-woman show, “Me, Myself & Shirley” for a limited three-show engagement Feb. 4 and 5, 2022.

LAS CRUCES - The one-woman show "Me, Myself and Shirley" starring Cindy Williams has been postponed until summer 2022.

The show was originally scheduled for three shows Feb. 4 and 5 at the Rio Grande Theatre. However the City of Las Cruces announced Tuesday that Williams' appearance in Las Cruces has been rescheduled for two shows at 1 and 7 p.m. July 23. 

An email sent to a ticket-holder explained the recent COVID-19 surge was to blame for the postponement.

Those who have already purchased tickets can contact the theatre, at 211 N. Main St., to either transfer tickets to the rescheduled times or request a refund. The theater can also be contacted by phone at 575-541-2290 or by email at info@riograndetheatre.com.

Williams is one of the stars of the iconic sitcom "Laverne & Shirley," where she played Shirley Feeney opposite the late Penny Marshall's Laverne DeFazio. The actress will share memories, secrets, and "hilarious backstage tales" and the highs and lows she experienced in her career in entertainment during her Las Cruces engagement, according to a city new release. 

While best known for portraying Feeney, Williams' career also includes appearances in "Happy Days," "Travels With My Aunt," "American Graffiti," "The Conversation" and more recently episodes of  "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" and "The Odd Couple."

Throughout her career she has worked with Academy Award-winning directors Francis Ford Coppola, George Lucas, George Cukor, Roger Corman and Jack Nicholson. Friends and colleagues also include Marshall, Ron Howard, Harrison Ford, Henry Winkler, Richard Dreyfus, Gene Hackman, Dame Maggie Smith, Gene Kelly, Andy Kaufman and Robert Duval. 

Tickets for Williams' two show engagement are still available online at riograndetheatre.org for $39 or may be purchased at the door the day of the event.
