Man Smashes Vase During Wedding Sermon, Priest's Reaction Is Hilarious

A wedding is a special day for any couple so there is a lot of pressure for the event to run smoothly.

However, just like any other day, accidents can easily happen and Melbourne-based videographer Stu Dwyer learned this the hard way when he smashed a vase during a Greek Orthodox wedding.

The video, which has been watched by 188,900 people, begins with a clip of the priest talking to the guests inside the church.

He says: "It is important to understand each other, and it is important to hold each other."

But his speech is promptly interrupted by a loud crashing sound as the vase smashes to the floor.

Without batting an eyelid, the priest then continues: "It is a Greek custom after the wedding to break some glasses.

"But we don't start from the church, we start from the reception, but nevertheless I am going to charge him twice as much."

The camera then cuts to the bride and groom as they stifle a smile.

Text overlaying the footage, which can be watched here, reads: "That time I knocked over a vase during a wedding ceremony #videographerfail."

Dwyer captioned the hilarious video, which can be watched here, writing: "I died from embarrassment #weddingfail #wedding #weddingvideography #weddingvideo #greekwedding #foryoupage."

The clip has gained lots of traction online since it was shared in June 26, 2021, having surpassed more than 19,900 likes.

Many people also rushed to the comments section to share their thoughts at the funny moment.

One TikTok user, Unsuspecting Guy, wrote: "My worst nightmare, making my presence painful obvious [laughing-face emoji]."

Another person, Boris Michaels, added: "Congratulations. God bless you both."

J stated: "Iconic orthodox priest."

MagnetMobster commented: "When he gets the bill and finds out how much that vase was worth."

Xxvem revealed: "Oh my goodness that's our priest, he's a legend."

Andria Neophytou posted a laughing-face emoji and added: "good banter from the priest!"

Nah admitted: "A funny priest at a wedding is absolute gold."

SusanL typed: "hahahaha the priest at least made it funny."

To this, Stuart responded: "Yeah glad he made a joke of it, I was hoping the earth would crack open and swallow me."

Recently another wedding fail also went viral on TikTok, which showed a bride accidentally setting fire to a bouquet.

The hilarious clip, shared by Emily Jackson, has been watched more than 1.7 million times and has attracted nearly 325,000 likes.

Newsweek have contacted Dwyer for comment.
