Gayle King is celebrating 10 years on CBS News with an old standby — the yellow dress she wore on day one.

The morning show co-anchor celebrated a decade of hosting "CBS Mornings" with her tradition of wearing the yellow and white dress designed by Alex Kramer she wore on her very first day at the desk.

King said she decided to wear the cheerful dress on the first day of work because it brought joy to what she described as a "nervous" day.

"Yellow just makes me happy and I wanted to feel happy on that day," King said during Monday's show. "I was very nervous and it wasn't nervous about 'Oh God I don't know if I can do it' it was nervous because you just wanted to do a good job."

King officially joined the network in November 2011 and sat at the desk for the first time in January 2012. Her co-anchors Tony Dokoupil and Nate Burleson celebrated her milestone with a look back on some of her big moments on the show and a chocolate cake with icing the color of King's happy hue.

Gayle King celebrates 10 years with CBS News and wore a closet staple: The dress she wore on her first day of work.

"Ten years at @cbsmornings table and it feels oh SO GOOD! I can still fit into my anniversary dress (yay) and there was cake double yay!," she wrote on Instagram.

She later joined "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" to further celebrate the anniversary and further her point that yellow is a supreme color.

"Butter and sunshine are yellow, two of my favorite things," she told Colbert.

Another favorite of King's is her newborn grandson, Luca.

"I'm officially a grandmother!" King announced in September on the morning show broadcast. "It's really something when you see your own child become a parent. I am so nuts about him."

King said Luca, her first grandchild, is of course her "favorite grandson," much like how her only daughter with ex-husband William Bumpus is her "favorite daughter." (King and William Bumpus also share son William Bumpus Jr.)

"He's very, very cute," King said at the time. "I'm over the moon."
