The Batman is at risk of seeing its release date delayed. It's only a small risk for now, but Warner Bros has confirmed that they are monitoring the situation "day by day".
The Batman, which will see Robert Pattinson take over the cape and cowl, is currently scheduled for release in cinemas on Friday, March 4.
Now, amid a surge in coronavirus cases due to the omicron variant, the possibility of holding off on a theatrical release is being considered.
WarnerMedia CEO Jason Kilar offered a reassuring message when asked about the current situation, telling Puck News: "We're certainly paying attention to everything going on with omicron."

Fortunately, Warner Bros is "feeling good" about the March 4 date at the moment. "We're gonna watch it day by day," Kilar added (via Variety).
As it stands, Matt Reeves' long-anticipated The Batman is due to run exclusively in cinemas for 45 days before being made available to stream on HBO Max. Whether that time frame will change, or a simultaneous release will be proposed, is up in the air.
All we can do now, then, is enjoy the glimpses and teases offered to us as The Batman gears up for (some kind of) premiere.
Just this week, the movie released images of some of Gotham's most notorious villains, including Paul Dano as Riddler and Colin Farrell as the Penguin – both stars are set to make their big-screen Batman debut.

Opening up about Matt Reeves' vision, Robert Pattinson recently promised that The Batman will offer something unique compared to previous Worlds of DC iterations.
"For some reason, Batman has always stood out as one of the major characters of the 20th century, and so many people connect with it on such a deep level for so many different reasons," he explained.
"From the first conversation I had with Matt about it, I just knew that there was something radically different [here]."
The Batman has a release date of March 4, 2022.
