Sinead O’Connor is mourning the death of her 17-year-old son, Shane, who was found dead in Ireland on January 7th. O'Connor, who has also battled mental illness over the past decade, had notified local authorities that Shane — who had twice attempted suicide — had gone missing. His body was found just outside of Dublin in the town of Bray.
- O'Connor posted on Twitter: “My beautiful son, Nevi'im Nesta Ali Shane O’Connor, the very light of my life, decided to end his earthly struggle today and is now with God. May he rest in peace and may no one follow his example. My baby. I love you so much. Please be at peace.” (Billboard)
Ringo Starr's early days will be the subject of a new comic book via TidalWave Comics' “Orbit” series. Reuters reported the comic chronicles how the legendary drummer “overcame life-threatening illnesses during childhood to how he became one of the world's best drummers of all time in The Beatles.”
- The comic, which was written by David Cromarty and illustrated by Victor Mour, will be available in both print and digital versions on January 12th. (Reuters)
Rock legend John Fogerty has a handful of dates on the books for this winter. The Creedence Clearwater Revival leader has just rolled out a half-a dozen shows set for February and March at Las Vegas' Encore Theater At Wynn Las Vegas.

Famed lyricist Marilyn Bergman best known for co-writing Barbra Streisand's 1973 chart-topping classic “The Way We Were” died on January 8th at the age of 93 from non-COVID related respiratory failure. Along with husband and fellow lyricist Marty Bergman, the pair also wrote lyrics for such modern standards as “The Windmills Of Your Mind,” “Nice 'n' Easy,” “You Don’t Bring Me Flowers” and “How Do You Keep The Music Playing,” among others.
- The three-time Oscar winning couple's work was also a mainstay on the small screen with the couple writing the lyric to such iconic TV themes as Maude, Good Times, and Alice. (The Hollywood Reporter)
