Parents Searching for Owensboro Teen Missing Since Christmas

  • 0

For over 2 weeks, the Owensboro Police Department has been searching for Alina Bartolon.

Alina was last seen on Christmas Eve. She spent the evening with her father. They attended a Christmas Eve church service and got dinner before returning home.

Alina’s mother, Elizabeth, says Alina acted normal when she got home. It wasn’t until 4 a.m. the next morning that Elizabeth noticed Alina’s bed was empty.

According to a door monitor Alina left her home on foot around 10:42 p.m. on December 24th.

She hasn’t been seen since.

“We looked everywhere and we couldn’t find her, so we called 911,” Elizabeth Bartolon says. “I don’t know where she is. I don’t know what happened to her. I don’t know if she’s okay. I want her to know that we love her and that we want her to come home soon, that she’s not in trouble. We just want her to be safe.”

The search for the 4’11” 14-year-old began Christmas morning and hasn’t stopped.

“It’s so sad and I don’t know what to do. It’s been two weeks and I don’t know where my daughter is,” says Alina’s dad Huber Lindo Bartolon.

Alina’s parents have been looking everywhere for her. They have organized search parties and passed out flyers with Alina’s picture on them to get the word out.

The Owensboro Police Department says they have been doing everything they can and following every tip they get.

OPD Public Information Officer Andrew Boggess says, “The community is obviously our number one resource in any case, but particularly in a case like this. Hopefully someone is ultimately going to notice her and we will be able to return her home safely.”

OPD says they’ve enlisted the help of surrounding agencies to search in fields, bodies of water, and through other communities. They’ve also followed several tips and potential sightings. None of which were proven to be Alina.

“You get a little bit of hope, and you don’t know if it’s her. But you hope it’s her, and then it’s not,” says Elizabeth. “We just want to hug her. We just want our daughter back.”

Alina’s parents are offering a $750 reward for anyone who can help bring Alina home.

Alina Bartolon was last seen wearing blue jeans, a black hooded sweatshirt and black boots.

The teenager is 4'11" and weighs 90 lbs.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to contact dispatch at 270-687-8888 or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers at 270-687-8484.
