'I Post What I Want': Elle Fanning Secretly Trolled Fans With Anonymous Account

Actress Elle Fanning recently revealed to Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon that she has been trolling fans with a secret Tiktok account in a new viral post. The video has over 5 million views and with 900,000 likes.

Fanning has been in numerous films including Maleficent, All The Bright Places, and The Beguiled. Currently, she is promoting her new Hulu original TV series, The Great. The show is now in its second season, which released last November.

When asked if Fanning was indeed the anonymous account, @user6754189318472 by host Fallon, she smiled, "I confirm that is me."

Fanning then goes on to tell the story about how she started her account during the early stages of the Covid-19 lockdown. Her friend told her to make one with the generated username Tiktok applies when an account is made.

"I posted and it kind of, like — I got a lot of followers and Tiktok DM'd me on Instagram," Fanning explained. She added that it all began as a joke, "I post what I want, but it's silly."

Fans went to the comment section to share their reactions at the celebrity reveal.

"every now and then there's that rare case when a random seemingly spam account is actually in fact the famous celebrity it is purporting to be," @Andrew said.

"It's so weird to hear her without the accent she uses in the great," @Ash confessed.

"I found it waaaay back when it was like 2 thousand users. I can't believe it really her" @Heather laughed using an emoji.

"This is brilliant!" @Brittany exclaimed.

Users also expressed their confusion about why people are shocked that it's actually the Maleficent star in the videos,

"Wait but the videos literally have her face in them. How was that a secret" @Daylight Creative asked.

@Mylenne responded, "Maybe someone could repost as if it was hers."

@Evy also answered the commenters question, "On Tiktok you find Many ppl who looks alike A LOT some famous actors/singers. You never know."

"Best username on the whole app." @John wrote.

"the queen has returned," @Jessica exclaimed.

"she is back and better than EVER" @Sophia said.
