West Yellowstone dispatchers received a call about a snowmobile crash on Monday morning.
A group of snowmobilers called 911 around 10:08 a.m., reporting that a group member struck a tree and potentially had broken a leg.
They were located 5 miles west of West Yellowstone.
Volunteers from the Gallatin County Sheriff Search and Rescue in West Yellowstone, Custer Gallatin National Forest, Yellowstone National Park and Hebgen Basin Rural Fire District responded to the scene.
When they arrived, the victim was cold but stable.
Rescuers said the snowmobiler had severe injuries, including a compound fracture of the femur and fractures to both legs.
They called Air Methods Helicopter and transported the victim to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
Gallatin County Sheriff Dan Springer reminds snowmobilers to be aware of changing trail conditions and ride within their abilities.
