SEGA has confirmed the languages that will be supported in Sonic Frontiers, which is coming to Nintendo Switch later this year.

This has looked to expand the game’s reach to new audiences, with English, French, German, Italian, Japanese and Spanish listed as being both voiced and subtitled. Whereas Brazilian Portuguese, Polish and Russian will be available as subtitled languages. The localisation team has also worked to add Korean, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese, but it is stated that these will only be available on Xbox and PC.

Revealed at The Game Awards 2021, the iconic blue blur will star in his “first-ever open-zone-inspired gaming experience” which has been led by producer Sachiko Kawamura and director Morio Kishimoto.

With the chance to explore the visually stunning, open-zone realm called Starfall Islands, you can “accelerate to new heights and experience the thrill of high-velocity open-zone freedom” – landscapes packed with dense forests, overflowing waterfalls, sizzling deserts and more.

SEGA recently revealed that the game was originally planned for a 2021 release, but was delayed “to improve the quality of the title.”

Sonic Frontiers will release at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide in Holiday 2022.
