Android 12 One UI 4.0 Update Rolling Out For Galaxy S20 FE US Carrier Units

Recently, Samsung took wraps on its next-generation fan edition phone, the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE. While you can argue over the decision of the company to introduce a device when the Galaxy S22 lineup is about to be launched, the older-gen Galaxy S20 FE carrier units are picking up the Android 12 update.

Yes! Giving the proper Fan Edition treatment, the Galaxy S20 FE carrier models in the US are receiving the Android 12 One UI 4.0 update.

Notably, the Exynos variant of the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE has already grabbed the Android 12 update. Now, it is time for the carrier models to be served with the latest Android operating system.

As per SamMobile, the Android 12 One UI 4.0 update is currently rolling out for a bunch of carrier models of the Galaxy S20 FE. The networks include T-Mobile, Sprint, and Verizon.

Sadly, AT&T is missing out and hasn’t joined the party as of yet, but it is expected to join the bandwagon soon. There is no information available on whether this new update bumps the security patch level to January 2022 or not.

We advise you to download the update over a stable Wi-Fi or mobile internet connection to avoid any issues during installation.

Talking about the features, the new update brings all Android 12 goodies for the device. For instance, Material You design language, dynamic color support, privacy dashboard, new widgets, etc.

Moreover, it also brings new features bundled with Samsung’s in-house One UI 4.0. This includes homescreen widgets redesign, camera UI changes, improved multitasking, etc.

Overall, the update is feature-packed. We recommend you download the update right away as it also brings performance improvements and stability enhancements as well.

The update is currently rolling out for carrier models of the Galaxy S20 FE via OTA in batches. Meaning it will take its own time to arrive on all units.

However, you can manually check for the update. To do that, you need to head over to Settings > Software update and press the Download and install button. Your device will check the servers for a new update. If it detects one, it will prompt you to install it on your phone.

Of course, not all features introduced by One UI 4.0 on Galaxy S21 or S20 series will be delivered to Galaxy S20 FE. This is because every UI 4.0 update is optimized as per the device model.
