Adult Swim Surprise Premieres Seven New Episodes Of “Smiling Friends”
Similar to the shenanigans that usually goes down during April Fool’s Day, Adult Swim’s first new series premiere of 2022 kicked off with an unexpected twist. On January 9th, not only did Adult Swim launch Smiling Friends with the previously announced two episodes, but the network opted to premiere five additional episodes, one right after the other for a total of seven new episodes debuting on the network’s big night.
All of these episodes are now available on Adultswim.com. Smiling Friends will premiere February 9th on HBO MAX. Look out for our full review later today which will encompass the entirety of the episodes that premiered last night. One final episode will premiere later this year entitled “The Smiling Friends Go To Brazil!” which did not premiere last night nor is it available on the network website as of this writing.
Synopsis:
Smiling Friends follows the employees of a small company dedicated to bringing happiness to a bizarre yet colorful world. The company consists of cynical Charlie and star employee Pim, each tasked with out-calls to cheer people up. There’s also meticulous Allan who keeps things in order, mysterious Glep, and the unpredictable billionaire Boss who founded the company.
