Emily in Paris is staying put in the City of Love: Netflix has renewed the Lily Collins-starring comedy for Seasons 3 and 4, TVLine has learned.
The series follows the titular Emily (Collins), a Chicago marketing executive who is sent to Paris to work with the boutique French luxury firm Savoir that Emily’s company has acquired. In the Season 2 finale, Emily was presented with an offer to join Savoir boss Sylvie at her new marketing firm.
At the same time, Emily was at a crossroads in her personal life: her boyfriend Alfie told her that he’s going back to London, but he wants to give a long-distance relationship a try. Emily, however, decided to follow her heart and tell Gabriel that she loves him. But just as Emily was about to confess her feelings, Gabriel’s ex Cami stepped out from behind him to reveal that they had reunited and were moving in together. With that, Emily bolted and called up Sylvie to tell her she had made her choice.
“She’s faced with a major decision. She has reasons to pick a number of doors at the end of Season 2, and our challenge is deciding which of those doors she’s going to choose and why,” showrunner Darren Star previously told TVLine. “That’s what Season 3 is going to be about. When you live in a foreign country, one of the questions is, where’s your heart? Is it the place you came from, or the place you are at the moment? Emily is going to be struggling with that as well.”
And although Emily has “very strong feelings” for Gabriel, Star contends that Alfie shouldn’t be discounted. “I love Alfie, personally. I wouldn’t write Alfie off, and I don’t think Emily should, either,” Star said, adding that “London’s not far from Paris.”

while this show a decent getaway from everyday life – it’s not worthy of four seasons. This is a result of the globes people being bribed into nominating them last year. There are so many worthy shows that were never renewed.
I Thought everyone panned it. Not surprised though. Women love lightweight crap like this.
Not all women like crap like this you sexist pig
Because men only watch high-brow dramas…
The Globes get panned for nominating it, but it was nominated for an Emmy for Best Comedy too.
How is Netflix keeping this show around but cancel so many other great shows after 1 season?
Because its one of their most popular shows, and they cancel ones that are not popular? Not difficult to figure out.
Julie and the Phantoms was popular and it got canceled. This show should get canceled instead of Julie.
Popular but not popular enough for them to keep around I guess, Emily in Paris is one of Netflix’s most popular current shows as it is.
So there is no way Emily would be cancelled over Julie it is what it is.
I love Julie and the Phantoms but from a business standpoint Emily is extremely popular for them and wasn’t going to go anywhere, Netflix’s grading website shows just how big it’s been for their platform.
its business.
Hooray for another season! I’m hoping we get more subplots with Luc and Julien, who are great as comedic foils but I want more of their backstory.
I didn’t watch Season 1 when it first aired, but this summer got caught up after Younger ended. I didn’t have many expectations at first, but I love the titular character’s endless optimism. That’s what leads to hate-watching by others, but really who cares, their streaming numbers are strong because deep down Emily represents an enthusiastic demeanor that is undervalued in society nowadays.
This is so great. Such a cute fun show. The escape is a nice change from a lot of the heaviness of the word. The characters are fun a quirky, makes me want to learn French a little, and the setting is gorgeous. Would love to see more silvie and the marketing boys in future episodes. While I would personally never wear the majority of Emily’s clothing it is always entertaining to see what she’s got on
I absolutely love this show! It is a feel good show that gives you everything you need! And it’s not trash, it’s been nominated for awards. People hate when their genre doesn’t see success.
The show has traded heavily on the talents of Ashley Park in Season 2. She sang once in season 1…. this season, it feels like she sang every episode. Good for her for banking on Darren Star to raise her star. She deserves more attention. Hopefully she will return to Broadway too.
I really hoping that Emily and Gabriel will get together in season 3 then (probably the finale with the rate it’s been going) and then will be a couple in season 4. I’m definitely worried they’ll hold off on getting then together until season 4 though.
This show is the Gossip Girl of this generation. People can’t stop talking about it whether they like it or hate it. I’m glad it’s giving romantic escapism in a very camp way
lol at the gossip girl comment. Emily wishes!
And Netflix should just produce low budget crap like this. All their high budget shows get canned anyway.
Lots of angry people here. If you don’t like shows like this then don’t watch it. Apparently a lot of people do since it got renewed. Nothing wrong with beautiful scenery, silly outfits and light, escapist fun. Lighten up!
Great news! This show is exactly what I need right now with all the sorrow and heartache in my personal life and in the world. Such a happy, much needed feel good show!
I love Emily in Paris and am so glad it got renewed! Lilly Collins is adorable and I love all the characters. I love that some of the key players are older and some younger! The cinematography is stunning, the fashion is awesome and the romance is just what we need during a pandemic! I love everything about this show ! Love her roommate Mindy singing too! Good job Netflix!!!
Like practically every tv show it devolved into the same old politically correct effort to promote race-mixing.
So predictable.
The character Alfie isn’t even believable & he’s just stupid & annoying.
It shows that Hollyweird’s propaganda efforts mean more than money even because they ruined yet another show…
This comment will likely be censored soon…
Ensemble formidable! Merci.
Just discovered this show and love it! However, I do not love Cami, Emily needs to be with Gabriel.
Ashley Parks has a lovely voice and has really added to Season 2. But they need a larger apartment.
Ditch Cami please.
I am a 90 year old and love this show. No violence, rape or murder. Hope Emily gets Gabriel.
