WEBSTER, S.D.–The Day County Sheriff’s Office in Webster has taken the unusual step of closing its offices to the public due to positive COVID cases within their walls.

An announcement on Facebook says the office will be closed to the public this entire week, with tentative plans to re-open with normal business hours at 8:00 a.m. on January 17th.

The sheriff’s office says they will not be processing any pistol permits or doing employment fingerprints this week, and apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause.
