Huawei P50 Pocket & P50 Pro Global Launch Date Announced

Huawei has announced the global launch date of the Huawei P50 Pocket & P50 Pro handsets. Both smartphones will launch globally on January 12, as the company announced via social media.

The Huawei P50 Pocket & P50 Pro global launch date is official

The Huawei P50 Pocket is actually the company’s upcoming competitor to the Galaxy Z Flip 3. The device got announced in China at the end of December, so we didn’t have to wait long for it to arrive to more markets.

That being said, the Huawei P50 Pro is a different story. That handset launched in China way back at the end of July last year. It took it quite a long time to arrive to global markets, but it’s finally here.

Both of these phones are expected to be high-end devices, though fairly different ones. The Huawei P50 Pocket is a clamshell foldable, while the Huawei P50 Pro is your regular smartphone, in regards to its form factor.

Chances are that their global models will be identical in terms of specs to the Chinese variants, or almost identical. The design will also be unchanged, though they will ship with different software, of course.

Both devices offer powerful specs, and the same will be the case in their global variants

Both devices rock the Snapdragon 888 SoC, and come with plenty of RAM. In China, both 8GB and 12GB RAM variants are on offer, and it remains to be seen if the same will happen in other markets.

The Huawei P50 Pocket includes a 6.9-inch fullHD+ main display with a 120Hz refresh rate. A 1.04-inch secondary display is also included on this phone.

The P50 Pro, on the other hand, sports 6.6-inch fullHD+ main display with a 120Hz refresh rate. All those displays are OLED panels, by the way, in case you were wondering.

Both smartphones offer compelling camera setups, on paper, though the P50 Pro’s seems to be more powerful. Stereo speakers are also included, along with fast charging. Both phones are made out of metal and glass, and so on.
