Guardians of the Galaxy vol 3 is in the works, with filming currently underway.
Plenty of cast members are returning, while Will Pouter has been cast as Adam Warlock, who has been created to destroy the Guardians in retaliation for what happened in vol 2.
The film has also cast John Wick: Chapter 2 and Designated Survivor star Chukwudi Iwuji in an undisclosed role, which has led to plenty of speculation about who he could be playing. Director James Gunn has only fuelled the speculation by hinting it's a major role that plenty of actors wanted.
Responding to the rumours he could be playing big Marvel cosmic characters like the High Evolutionary, Beta-Ray Bill or the Silver Surfer, the actor appeared on The Movie Dweeb YouTube channel and said: "I saw those [rumours] recently, I've seen that.

"I saw Silver Surfer, I saw Nova, I've seen [so many]. For me to wrap my head around the fact that I am the subject of speculation around the Internet is kind of fun. But I have to stay mum. I can't tell you. I'd love to."
Of course, Gunn is a fan of including very obscure Marvel characters for a laugh, so perhaps this hugely sought-after role is something brilliantly ridiculous.
Iwuji is also working with James Gunn on another project: The Suicide Squad follow-up/spin-off series Peacemaker, following John Cena's less-than-honourable character.

Peacemaker is set to debut in the US on HBO Max in just a few days, but a UK release date hasn't been announced just yet. Gunn said he's been trying his hardest and hopes that it will be coming out as soon as possible.
Guardians of the Galaxy vol 3 is set for a May 2023 release.
