RuPaul's Drag Race judge Michelle Visage has responded to fans, following complaints from that there are too many versions of the iconic show.

Speaking to Digital Spy, Visage said: "We fought so long and hard to get queer programming on TV, and Drag Race has kind of blazed that trail in many ways. Not the only ways. I'm not taking all the credit, don't get me wrong."

"But I don't think there could ever be enough. I think we always have to love and support our queer artists."

She highlighted other queer shows that broadcasting now, such as We're Here on HBO and Drag SOS in the UK, which has given LGBTQ+ people a variety of opportunities.

"The point is, we're getting these shows on TV. I don't think we should ever, for a second, complain. It's 2022. It's taken so long to get shows like this on telly," Visage explained.

Visage went on to argue that the complaints were "a bit short-sighted" and asked for people to be "celebratory" and "grateful" for the abundance of LGBTQ+ focused shows.

"It won't be here forever. Nothing's here forever. So we have to enjoy being celebrated right now, and we should continue. If you don't have time to watch them all, then record them. Watch them on WOW Presents Plus," she said, pointing out that all versions of Drag Race are available on that streaming platform.

Visage has always been a passionate advocate for Drag Race, and has loved seeing how the franchise has grown, previously saying: "Drag Race was a teeny-tiny show made by queer people, for queer people. There's no way anybody could have predicted the success."

She added that there are so many shows out there to watch so you have to use your time wisely: "You've got to sit down and binge it. The point is, nobody has all the time to sit down and watch every single TV show that they want to watch. You make time for it!"

RuPaul's Drag Race US airs on VH1 in the US, and season 14 episodes will premiere on WOW Presents Plus in the UK at 4am every Saturday starting from January 8.
