Prince Harry & Meghan Markle May Be Moving Out of Their Montecito Home

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may be planning to make another move—but we don't think they'll be traveling nearly as far this time.

After leaving the U.K. in early 2020 and settling into a mansion in Montecito, California, a source tells The Daily Mail that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are looking to move again.

“They want to stay in the neighborhood or nearby, but they aren’t over the moon about the house or the location,” the source told the publication. It seems likely that the duo won't transport their family too far, given that they originally moved to the area so that they would have more privacy to raise their children.

In 2020, a different insider had told Vogue, “[Harry and Meghan] were both drawn to the smaller town of Santa Barbara, where they can integrate into the community while having some distance and privacy that is hard to come by in the Los Angeles area.”

The Sussexes will also likely miss their neighbors, which includes their recent interviewer, Oprah Winfrey, and fellow celebs like Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry. The Duke of Sussex even revealed that Bloom helps to warn him whenever he spots photographers in the area. “He's just down the road and we sort of keep in contact because of the paparazzi,” Harry said.

However, this level of publicity is likely the reason that the family wants to move. The Chateau of Riven Rock (as it was named by its previous owner) is no shabby residence, with 9 bedrooms, 16 bathrooms, an in-ground pool, gym, movie theater and more. So, we'll be intrigued to see what the family's next house includes if they decide to move after all.

We're just glad we won't be the ones packing those boxes.
